So for this semester's DnD campaign, I thought it would be cool to make a Tiefling paladin.
Hear me out. In 5e there are three kinds of sacred oaths you can take that define how you live your paladin life, right - you can pledge yourself to a god, to a virtue or ideal, or to just straight-up vengeance. That last one worked really well with the backstory I had in mind for Shalai, so I went with it. Plus, when people ask you your character's alignment, how often do you get to say "lawful vengeance?"
Shalai is also the literal only mature, middle-aged adult in the entire party - everyone else decided to play 20-year-old elves or what the frick ever. He's also the only tank. Also the only healer. Also the only lawful anything character, never mind that it's lawful vengeance.
Should be a time.
Normal is overrated!
